# Moving to Geneva with your family

Relocation agencies stop at the keys. We run the move with you, then stay for everything that follows: the first tax return, the first winter tyres, the first school year.

## The clock starts the day you arrive.

- **14 days**: to register with the cantonal population office (OCPM)
- **3 months**: to take out basic health insurance, or the canton chooses for you
- **12 months**: to exchange a foreign driving licence, after which you may no longer drive
- **February**: is when public primary schools enrol for September

### We have not arrived yet. Can we start?
Yes. Most families start two to three months before the move, so that housing, schools and insurance are ready on arrival.

### Do you replace a relocation agency?
For most families, yes. Where a specialist is needed, such as a home search in a tight market, we bring in a partner agency at member rates and coordinate it.

### Which permit applies to us?
It depends on nationality, employment and situation. We prepare the file and, where the case needs it, involve an immigration lawyer from our network.
